Wow Chat for Woo

Getting started

Install Wow Chat for Woo from WordPress.org, activate it alongside WooCommerce, and put the chat launcher, search and widgets on your storefront in minutes.

Last updated Sep 4, 2026 · applies to v0.2.1

Requirements

  • WordPress 6.4 or newer (tested up to 7.1)
  • PHP 7.4 or newer
  • WooCommerce installed and active

There is no account to create and no API key to paste. The only optional external service is OpenAI, and only if you choose to use the AI FAQ Generator.

Install

  1. In your WordPress admin, go to Plugins → Add New.
  2. Search for Wow Chat for Woo and click Install Now, then Activate.
  3. Alternatively, download the zip and upload it to /wp-content/plugins/wow-chat-for-woo, then activate it from the Plugins screen.

Activation requires WooCommerce to be active. If it isn’t, the plugin tells you and waits.

First run

A Wow Chat menu appears in your admin sidebar. The dashboard shows search and chat status, the plugin version, a health check and the setup steps that remain.

  1. Switch on chat. In Wow Chat → Settings → Chat, enable the chat and choose a surface: floating bubble, slide-in drawer or full-screen finder.
  2. Style the launcher. Under Design, pick one of six palettes (or fine-tune colours), set the launcher label — “Find Products” by default — and choose an icon.
  3. Add a few FAQ entries. Start with shipping, returns and your most common product question. Attach products or categories so answers arrive with cards. See FAQ entries.
  4. Place search and widgets. Add the Wow Search block where shoppers expect a search box, and the recommendation blocks on product pages. See Blocks & shortcode.

What shoppers see

  • A launcher button on your storefront, styled from your settings.
  • A chat panel (or full-screen finder) with a greeting, quick-reply chips and an input.
  • Product cards with image, price, sale price, stock state and add-to-cart.
  • Instant search results as they type, wherever you placed the Wow Search block.

Where data goes

Nowhere. Shopper messages, search queries and analytics are stored in your WordPress database. The plugin does not phone home. Read Privacy & data for the full picture.
